The Workforce Leadership Academy is a professional, training program that focuses on developing the practical and problem-solving skills students need to be leaders in workforce development. We are now accepting applications for enrollment in our October 2024 class!
Participation in the Academy program is centered around a week. During the week, you will spend time in the classroom, learning from faculty, talking experts in the field, and engaging in case studies.
Graduates of the program receive the professional designation of Certified Workforce Leader (CWL). In order to complete the program and earn the CWL designation, students must attend and participate in all five days of the program, as well as complete all program assignments. As a professional program, enrollment and attendance in the academy is not for academic credit.
Application Requirements
The October 2024 program is open to 30 students. Applications are welcome from participants in North Carolina and the rest of the United States. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. To learn about the application process, please click here.
Tuition and Fees
Registration cost for the academy is $2,245. Registration is due within 30 days of acceptance.
Students will be responsible for their own costs of transportation and hotels. Information on area hotels and special rates available for attendees is available on the McKimmon Center website.
